Tujuh Penyelidik USM Bentang Hasil Kajian Genomik di Persidangan Antarabangsa

USM PULAU PINANG, 26 Ogos 2026 - Tujuh penyelidik Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) daripada Kluster Penyelidikan Genomic & Life Sciences (GLS), Pusat Pengajian Sains Perubatan (PPSP), mengukuhkan keterlihatan penyelidikan universiti itu di pentas antarabangsa menerusi pembentangan hasil kajian pada Human Genome Meeting (HGM) 2026 di Athens, Greece, baru-baru ini.

Transforming Higher Education for a sustainable Tomorrow

USM Wins Best Contingent (Public Category) at State Maulidur Rasul Celebration

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) was awarded Best Contingent in the Public Category at the Penang State Maulidur Rasul Celebration 1448H/2026M, held today at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jawi (SMK Jawi).


The recognition reflects the strong spirit of unity and commitment among USM staff in commemorating Maulidur Rasul, while proudly representing the university at the state level with meaningful participation that embodies the values of Prophet Muhammad.


USM’s contingent, comprising 30 staff members from the Main Campus and Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus, joined the parade alongside 43 contingents from various departments and institutions, including 11 contingents under the NGO/Private/Public University category.

Higher Education Minister Officiates Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Cancer Centre, Strengthening University’s Role in Addressing National Cancer Challenges

BERTAM, PENANG, 22 August 2026 – The Minister of Higher Education, Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, today officiated the Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Cancer Centre (PKTAAB), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), marking another important milestone in strengthening Malaysia’s cancer care, education, and research ecosystem driven by technology and innovation.


The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), USM leadership, government agencies, industry partners, healthcare professionals, university staff, community members, and cancer survivors who witnessed this historic moment.


The launch of PKTAAB represents the transformation of the Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (IPPT) into a university cancer excellence centre that integrates clinical services, health professional education, and translational research to advance the national health agenda.
