INFORMM Open Lab Day 2026 showcased USM’s continued push to connect research with real-world industry needs through expertise sharing, consultation sessions, live lab demonstrations and the launch of its Research and Technology Services price list and capability brochure.

The programme also highlighted INFORMM’s role in strengthening university-industry collaboration while enhancing the visibility of USM’s translational research services.

From concept to recognition, Tang Xin Yi takes us through STACKO — a smart, stackable design created for small-space living that secured 2nd Place at WOODFEST 2026.

Thoughtful, practical and quietly elegant, the design shows how good furniture can do more with less.

The Ceramic Gold Stamping Workshop held at the Tuanku Fauziah Museum and Gallery, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), highlighted a meaningful Thai-Malaysian artistic exchange through contemporary ceramic printmaking rooted in traditional techniques.

Organised under Art Without Borders, the workshop introduced students to the beauty of cross-cultural learning, material experimentation and the artistic philosophy of transforming imperfection into beauty.
