SoLLaT USM Offers Free Basic Arabic Class to Community, 
Part of Lifelong Learning Initiative

USM PENANG, 12 June 2026 – The Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) School of Languages, Literacies and Translation (SoLLaT) is currently organising a Basic Arabic Communication Course for the community of Seberang Perai Tengah (‘Kursus Komunikasi Asas Bahasa Arab untuk Komuniti Seberang Perai Tengah’).

CEDEC USM Receives Courtesy Visit from JTM Director General: Strengthening Collaboration in Digital and Analog Integrated Circuit (IC) Design Industry

USM Achieves National Milestone as Malaysia’s First EASO International Affiliate Centre for Obesity Management

BERTAM, PENANG, 9 June 2026 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has achieved a significant international milestone in healthcare after its Obesity Medicine Clinic at Pusat Kanser Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (PKTAAB) was accredited as an EASO International Affiliate Collaborating Centre for Obesity Management, becoming the first centre in Malaysia to receive the prestigious recognition.

🚀 Excelerate at USM Career Fair 2026


USM students are invited to visit Excelerate at Booth 51 & 52 during USM Career Fair 2026 to explore opportunities for upskilling, career consultation and future-ready learning pathways.

BizMaker 2026 brought together young innovators from across Malaysia to pitch bold business ideas under the theme “Sportech 360: Performance. Innovation. Impact.”

📰 USM Communication Department Students Lead Social Responsibility Project to Care for Mental and Physical Well-Being of Residents at House of Hope Shelter

Summary:


PENANG, 6 June – A social responsibility project led by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) communication students, COMM@ Love in Transit 2026, recently carried out its second phase of activities, bringing two practical health and psychosocial care programmes to residents of the Penang Hope Shelter.


Now in its third year, COMM@LiT 2026 carries the theme “Social Responsibility, Empowering Lives”. Supported under the Malaysia Service Learning programme and university-community service initiative, the project continues its collaboration with Penang Hope Shelter.


The event was also supported by Penang State Executive Councillor for Social Development, Welfare and Non-Islamic Religious Affairs, Lim Siew Khim and Tourism Malaysia Deputy Chairman, Dato’ Yeoh Soon Hin.
