USM-KLE MEDICAL PROGRAMME GRADUATES CELEBRATE SUCCESS AT 62ND CONVOCATION CEREMONY
USM PENANG, 21 November 2024 – The Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) 62nd Convocation Ceremony (USM) recently celebrated the achievements of five graduates from India, who completed their five-year USM-KLE International Medical Programme (IMP) at Belgaum, Karnataka, India.
This convocation, held at Dewan Tuanku Syed Putra (DTSP) at the USM Main Campus this afternoon, marked a significant milestone for the graduates, many of whom were first time visiting Malaysia.
During an interview after the Fifth Session presided by USM Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Jegathesan Manikavasagam, the graduates shared why they chose USM for their studies.
Vijayalakshmi Gulappa Hosamani, one of the graduates, expressed her positive impression of USM's education system, which she found comfortable and conducive to learning. She also mentioned her intention to continue her studies at USM.
Sahana S. Keshetti, who was drawn to the international degree programme, found the location of the USM-KLE programme convenient, as it was close to her hometown. Reflecting on her experience, she admitted feeling nervous initially, but was pleased with how smoothly everything went.
Daneshwari Hanji shared that the ceremony exceeded her expectations, particularly praising the comfortable seating arrangements and the helpful guidance provided throughout the event.
The USM-KLE International Medical Programme, established in 2010 between USM and the Karnataka-Lingayat Education consortium in Belgaum, India, saw 55 students graduating this year.
The USM 62nd Convocation Ceremony continues to take place at the University Main Campus from 19 to 26 November 2024.
