USM-KLE IMP, BELGAUM, INDIA, 26 December 2025 – Building a career as a doctor while venturing into entrepreneurship is a wise and progressive step.

It reflects business acumen and readiness to serve in the healthcare field through broader platforms.

The Entrepreneurship Day Programme held at Hostel Lawn, USM-KLE IMP was a high-impact initiative resulting from the collaboration between Year 1 USM-KLE students and the Public Relations and Cultural Exco of USM-KLE MedSoc.

It also formed part of the WUS course assignment for Year 1 students, with a wider scope through the involvement of local Indian students as the target community.

This approach not only enriched students’ learning experiences but also encouraged cross-cultural interaction and active campus participation in an inclusive and dynamic environment.

The discipline and cooperation demonstrated by the students ensured the programme ran smoothly and in an orderly manner.

The event was not only successfully executed but also provided early exposure to entrepreneurship fundamentals through experiential learning.

In addition, the programme strengthened students’ soft skills, including effective communication, operational management, and teamwork, thereby nurturing a generation better prepared to face future challenges.

Participation of external students as visitors and buyers created a realistic learning atmosphere, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in business planning, sales management, customer service, and professional responsibility.

The programme’s organisation also aligned with the aspirations of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 4 (Quality Education) through experiential learning, and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by fostering entrepreneurial mindsets and skills among students.

Furthermore, the programme fulfilled the agenda of Students for Society (S4S) by encouraging active student involvement in initiatives that benefit the campus community, thereby cultivating social awareness, solidarity, and shared responsibility.
