FOSTERING GLOBAL COLLABORATION: USM HOSTS UPGRIP DELEGATION
USM PENANG, 15 January 2025 – The School of Educational Studies (SES), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) proudly hosted a delegation from Universitas PGRI Palembang (UPGRIP) today, marking a significant step in fostering international academic collaboration.
The delegation, led by the Director of the Postgraduate Programme at UPGRIP, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syaiful Edi, comprised some 70 participants, including lecturers and students.

Among the notable UPGRIP delegates was the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Misdalina.
The welcoming address and an introduction to SES were delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jamalsafri Saibon, representing the Dean of the School of Educational Studies.
Jamalsafri also shared insights into the impactful "I'm a Buddy, Not a Bully" project, a groundbreaking initiative spearheaded under his leadership.

The project has been instrumental in equipping schools with tools and strategies to effectively manage and mitigate bullying cases, fostering safer and more inclusive learning environments.
In return, Syaiful provided an overview of UPGRIP's academic framework, mission, and achievements, further cementing the potential for meaningful partnerships between the two institutions.
The visit facilitated an enriching exchange of ideas and best practices, highlighting the mutual interest of both institutions in exploring future opportunities for collaboration in education.
