FOSTERING INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERSHIPS: UniMAIWP DELEGATION VISIT

KUALA LUMPUR · 10 September 2026

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) had the honour of welcoming a distinguished delegation from Universiti Antarabangsa MAIWP (UniMAIWP), led by Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohd Afandi Salleh.

Joining him were Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Professor Dr. Rosylin Mohd Yusof, Professor Dr. Nurul Aliah Mustafa, and Professor Dr. Azizi Ayob, together with Registrar Fazlimah Mohamed @ Wahab.

Wholly owned by the Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan, UniMAIWP shared its inspiring journey of transformation, from its beginnings as a nursing school under Hospital Pusrawi in 1993 to its current standing as a comprehensive institution offering 36 MQA-accredited programmes.

The delegation was warmly received at USM@KL by USM Chairman of the Board of Governors, Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Hassan Said, alongside Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Professor Datin Dr. Noor Hazlina Ahmad and Professor Dr. Habibah A Wahab, as well as key university officials.

Building on UniMAIWP’s strong foundation in healthcare education, the visit focused on exploring strategic academic and research collaborations between the two institutions.

Discussions centred on forging impactful partnerships, particularly in advancing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Pharmacy and Nursing.

This collaborative effort underscores a shared commitment to empowering the “bottom billion” students, in line with USM’s core mission to transform higher education for a sustainable future.
