USM PENANG, 1 Aug 2023 – We are delighted to announce that after six years (2017-2023) of relentless effort, and with the support and commitment from the top management at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), the Graduate School of Business (GSB) has now been officially awarded the AACSB Accreditation for the next 5 years (2023-2028).

The school wishes to take this opportunity to express its deepest gratitude to USM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed for his continuous support which has enabled GSB to succeed in achieving this accreditation.

“We wish to extend our thank you note to everyone who had contributed to the school’s success in this accreditation process, from our academic and administrative staff to all our students, alumni, and industry partners,” said GSB Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fathyah Hashim.

Founded in 1916, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools, and the largest business education network connecting learners, educators and businesses worldwide.

AACSB accreditation recognises institutions that have demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curriculum development, and student learning.

Synonymous with the highest standards of quality, AACSB accreditation inspires new ways of thinking within business education globally.

As a result, less than 6 percent of the world's schools offering business degree programmes hold AACSB business accreditation.

Based on the ratification for year 2023, a total of only 988 institutions across 62 countries and territories have earned AACSB accreditation in business, and GSB is proud to be one of the businesses globally ranked for year 2023.

The AACSB accreditation is a testament of GSB’s commitment in delivering excellence and high standards in business education.
