USM, CHULALONGKORN UNIVERSITY SIGNED AN AGREEMENT TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
USM, PENANG, 10 August 2017 – The School of Housing, Building and Planning (HBP), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has signed an agreement with Chulalongkorn University (CU), Thailand to hold academic collaborations in relation to projects conducted by students in sustainable development.
According to the Dean of HBP, Professor Dr. Aldrin Abdullah, the school is welcoming more visits from Thailand educational institutions, which involve activities associated with USM such as summer school programmes and advanced projects.
“It would be more encompassing if the collaboration does not only involve students and areas in education, as we would also arrange for advanced architecture projects,” added Aldrin.
He said, other than programmes for students, we would also look into staff development programmes that would provide the staff with opportunities to gain skills for self-improvement.
Meanwhile, the Dean from the Faculty of Architecture CU, Associate Professor Dr. Pinraj Khanjanusthiti said, there would be continuing discussions on upcoming plans for both sides on future research and projects.
A discussion has also been arranged by the school concerning the exchange programme, as part of the collaboration and which has been mentioned in the agreement.
