The Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCE ESD) Penang@USM in collaboration with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) School of Educational Studies will be organising a public lecture by Professor Charles Hopkins on Tuesday, 24 January 2017, at 9.15 a.m. at the Dewan Budaya, USM.

Professor Hopkins is currently a UNESCO Chair at York University, Toronto, Canada in Reorientating Teacher Education towards Sustainability.

As UNESCO Chair, he coordinates an international network of teacher education institutions working upon the reorientation of teacher education to address sustainable development.

He will be speaking on the topic ‘Reimagining and Implementing Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Practices for Education 2030: Learning and Beyond’.

The talk is open to the campus community as well as the general public in Penang especially those who are interested in the Teaching and Learning for Sustainability.

This is a unique opportunity for the university staff and students to engage with one of the world’s most influential thinkers on ESD, Professor Charles Hopkins.
