PENANG, 14 December 2016 - The Director and Founder of the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Centre for Neuroscience Services and Research (P3Neuro), the first in Southeast Asia, Professor Dato' Dr. Jafri Malin bin Abdullah has been appointed as the Advisor of the International Youth Neuroscience Association (IYNA), based at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, USA.

It is indeed an achievement to be proud of as he is the only Advisor in the Association that comes from outside the USA.

He was among the pioneers who introduced and developed the field of Clinical and Experimental Neuroscience in Malaysia and in expanding it through the Malaysian Academy of Science.

"I am truly proud (with the appointment) as Neuroscience USM has received this recognition, more so from the younger generation in the world of neurosciences," he said.

According to Jafri Malin, the experiences in establishing the first Neuroscience Club at the primary school level in Sekolah Kebangsaan Kubang Kerian 3 in Kelantan and at the secondary school level at Sekolah Menengah Sains Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra more than five years ago, and in conducting various activities on neuroscience have all made this appointment possible, and for those activities to be shared at the global level.
