USM IEEE SB WON 1ST PRIZE IN INFOGRAPHICS COMPETITION 2016
PENANG, 16 October 2016 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has been put in the limelight again when students from the USM School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering won the 1st prize in IEEE Malaysia Student Congress 2016 - Student Branch Infographics Competition yesterday, held in Kuala Lumpur.
The designers involved in this Infographics Competition from USM were Jack Tan Zhe Jie and Tan Wern Ke while their advisor was Dr. Rosmiwati Mohd Mokhtar.
According to the presenter, Andy Tan Wei Keat, 5 student branches took part in this competition, namely USM, UKM, UPM, UTM, and Curtin University, with the prizes consisting of certificates and plaques.
Added Andy, IEEE SB USM is run by undergraduates from USM, with guidance provided by their counsellor, Dr Rosmiwati, thus making innovation and development both representing the core of IEEE USM Student Branch.
"We provide our members in USM with the opportunities to develop a multitude of skill sets and networking arrangements in preparation to face challenges in their future career in engineering.”
"Conferences, competitions, technical workshops and industrial visits are some of the activities that we have organised to encourage and empower the new generation of Malaysian graduates," he said.
