NEW BATCH OF 2016/2017 USM MEDICAL DOCTORS TO REGISTER IN BELGAUM, INDIA
KUBANG KERIAN, 3 September 2016 – The first group of 25 USM-KLE students to undergo their undergraduate studies in Medicine has safely arrived in Belgaum on 2 September at 11.45 pm.
They comprised of 11 males and 14 females, and accompanied by a lecturer from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) School of Medical Sciences, Professor Dr. Suhaimi Wahab.
According to the USM Health Campus Director, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mafauzy Mohamad, the second group would follow suit and is expected to arrive there on 4 September, a group comprising of 20 students, namely six males and fourteen females, with Dr. Mohamad Saiful Bahri Yusoff as the accompanying lecturer.
Whereas, Professor Dr. Kamarudin Jaalam, who would be leaving together with the third group of 12 male and 22 female students, are expected to arrive in Belgaum on 5 September 2016.
Meanwhile, an official from USM-KLE IMP, Belgaum, Vikram Yakkundi said that all 25 students have safely arrived and would be registering for accommodations, going for residential registration as a formality with the Indian authorities and a campus orientation programme before commencing their studies.
USM initiated its programme in Medical Sciences at the USM-KLE Campus in Belgaum, India in the 2010/2011 academic session and has produced 48 graduates last year. The next batch of 110 students would be graduating in the Convocation this coming November.
