IASI, ROMANIA, 22 May 2016 – The MultiFunctional Eco-RubFoam, an innovative product by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) lecturer from the School of Material and Mineral Resources Engineering, Professor Dr. Hanafi Ismail, won a gold medal at the 8th European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation (EUROINVENT 2016) held here from 19 to 21 May 2016.

Besides the gold medal, the product also won three special awards from the international jury from Highly Innovative Unique Foundation Saudi Arabia and Universitatea Tehnics Din Cluj-Napoca Romania.

Hanafi said he is honoured to have received the awards and grateful for his recent achievements, and will continue to give his best to the University as an academician, researcher and innovator.

Hanafi was also invited as a guest speaker at the International Conference on Innovative Research (ICIR 2016), held simultaneously here as part of EUROINVENT 2016.

EUROINVENT is among the biggest and prestigious exhibition and conference in Europe, held annually to bring together leading inventors, researchers, scientists and engineers to showcase their innovative research products and results in all fields of research with the aim of promoting creativity and innovation at international level.

All inventions and products were evaluated by a panel of international jury, and were awarded Diplomas, Medals and Prizes.
