PENANG, October 2015 – The spirit of cooperation needs to be established among educational institutions throughout the world to ensure that its progress and development would be in line with the agenda of the respective institutions, in raising the standards of education to more respectable levels.

According to the French Republic Honorary Consul to Penang, Teoh Seng Aun during his presentation in the first session of the USM 2nd Ambassadors Summit 2015 Programme recently, an established cooperation is essential in maintaining the level of competitiveness among the institutions, as well as the excellence of each individual institution.

"For example, a university is capable of giving the required lessons and education to its students in the field of entrepreneurship, however, being an entrepreneur offers a different experience than what is taught on the field of entrepreneurship," said Teoh.

He further added, ratings established by the QS World Ranking is one of the parameters which can be used to measure excellence and progress of a university while every memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by the concerned parties requires frequent and effective follow-ups.

Teoh stated that, as how the human nervous system works in unison, that should also be the case with collaborations and cooperation among the countries and institutions concerned.

The USM 2nd Ambassadors Summit 2015 Programme featured 3 USM Pro-Chancellors, namely Tan Sri Razali Ismail, Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Jegathesan Manikavasagam and Tan Sri Datuk Mustafa Mansur, taking turns as the moderator for 3 separate sessions, held at the Dewan Budaya USM.
