MS ISO 56002:2019 TO FACILITATE INNOVATION MANAGEMENT IN ORGANISATIONS

GEORGE TOWN, Dec 7 (Bernama) - The Malaysian Standards Department (JSM) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) today launched the 'MS ISO 56002:2019 - Innovation management Innovation management system - Guidance' as an initiative to facilitate innovation management in all organisations.

JSM in a statement said MS ISO 56002 provided guidance, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of innovation management systems for the use of all organisations by focusing on innovation and organisational competitiveness as well as community development.

He said this was in line with the goals of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030) aimed at driving innovation, increasing productivity, and creating new opportunities for economic growth, particularly in terms of the use of technology and digitalisation.

The launch ceremony was officiated by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry's (MITI) Trade Facilitation Section director Jamaliah Hamzah, who represented the MITI secretary-general at the 15th Asian Academy of Management International Conference 2023 (AAMC 2023) at Dewan Budaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), here.

AMC 2023 is jointly organised by USM's School of Management and the Asia Academy of Management.

With the theme 'Creating a Sustainable Future: Powering Innovation and Accelerating Transformation', the conference was attended by more than 100 participants consisting of researchers, academics, policymakers, practitioners and professional groups in the field of business and management.

The three-day conference which began today discusses the need for innovation to drive transformation, as well as the importance of a holistic and integrated approach in dealing with current global challenges.
