PENANG, 3 November 2023 – USAINS Holding Sdn. Bhd., the private business entity of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) celebrated a significant milestone today, marking its Silver Jubilee Celebration in 2023 with an Annual Dinner, to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the USAINS Group of Companies at a hotel in Bayan Baru Penang.

The aim of this event was to honour and celebrate the impressive path that the company has achieved, alongside the esteemed board members and the dedicated management teams of its subsidiaries.

The event showcased a significant accolade for the USAINS Group of Companies, as it was recognised as one of 'Asia's Most Promising SMEs' by the Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability Awards (ACES). In its 10th edition this year, the ACES Awards received an overwhelming 580 nominations from across the region.

Among the extensive pool of nominations, only 220 were chosen as finalists for this year's prestigious awards, making this recognition a moment of pride and honour for USAINS.

Present at the event were the Chairman of USAINS Holding Sdn. Bhd., Datuk Dr. Hafsah Hashim; USM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Seri Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed; USAINS Holding Sdn. Bhd. Managing Director, Farid Wajidi Mat Yusoff; USM Board of Governors; and Chairmen and Directors of USAINS Group of Companies.

In her welcoming address, Hafsah extended a heartfelt appreciation to all USAINS staff, as they have been with the company since its inception, for their unwavering commitment, perseverance, and loyalty.

“I would like to pay a tribute to USM, the sole shareholder for their steadfast support, emphasising their pivotal role in the success of USAINS,” said Hafsah.

Meanwhile, Farid in his speech acknowledged that 25 years is a relatively short span in the journey of building a robust and sustainable company. He highlighted the challenges faced, including global pandemics and economic hardships, underscoring the organisation's resilience and ability to navigate through turbulent times.

“The strategic thinking and agility displayed by USAINS Group of Companies have been instrumental in its continued progress. Our dedicated staff, both past and present, have been the cornerstone of USAINS Holding Sdn. Bhd.'s accomplishments. Their commitment and contributions have been invaluable in shaping the organisation's success,” he said.

The ceremony was enlivened with a performance from the winner of the singing reality show Akademi Fantasia season 7, Hafiz Suip, adding a touch of nostalgia and artistry to the 'Oscar-night' themed celebratory atmosphere.
