UISU MEDAN WILL BE THE HOST FOR 12TH iCMR
USM PENANG, 23 September 2023 – Universiti Islam Sumatera Utara (UISU), Medan, Indonesia, will be the host for the 12th edition of the International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research (iCMR) next year.
USM has passed the baton to their representative, Professor Dr. Ir. Nurhayati, as a symbolic hand-over during the closing ceremony of the 11th iCMR, which concluded yesterday.
According to the Dean of the School of Distance Education (SDE), USM, Associate Professor Dr. Zulnaidi Yaacob, this year's iCMR was successfully organised with more than 100 participants, and more collaborators are welcome to participate in the next year's iCMR.
“Firstly, I would like to congratulate all organising committees and our esteemed main sponsor, NationGate Holdings Berhad, and other sponsors for all the support in making the conference a success.
“Last but not least, all our co-organisers, namely UISU; Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK); Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS); Tan Trao University (TTrU); and Cambodia University of Technology and Science (CamTech).
“I would like to wish the best of luck to our next organiser, UISU, and hope to see you all in Medan next year,” added Zulnaidi in the closing speech.
“This conference is a platform for all the participants to network and discuss with each other regardless of their research fields, as science and arts will complement each other, and that is the multidisciplinary aspect that could be explored beyond their own specific areas,” he added.
Zulnaidi also presented awards to all the best paper and best poster winners as follows:

For the record, the 11th iCMR was held through a hybrid mode from 20 September to 22 September 2023 at Sains@USM in Bukit Jambul, Penang, Malaysia, and was officiated by the Malaysian Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup via video presentation.
