PPK AERO HOSTED AN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE STUDY PROGRAMME TO FOSTER ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE, GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT, AND CULTURAL DIVERSITY
NIBONG TEBAL, 18 August 2023 – The School of Aerospace Engineering (PPK Aero) recently hosted an Artificial Intelligence Study Programme that is timely aligned with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)’s mission in fostering academic excellence, global engagement and cultural diversity.
The collaboration programme with Foshan University, China is hoped to be an engaging platform for 39 undergraduate students involved in gaining not only the knowledge, but also the uniqueness of cultural diversity that we have in Malaysia, affirmed the Dean of PPK Aero, Professor Dr. Farzad Ismail during his speech.
“As part of the internalisation engagement, we offer various advantages to the participants of the programme mainly in demonstrating our working techniques directly from our professionals in the related areas of expertise,” mentioned Farzad.
“Indeed, I am optimistic and look forward for the participants to pursue their studies at the School of Aerospace Engineering and enroll into our postgraduates’ programmes in the future,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Programme Coordinator, Dr. Ho Hann Woei explained that this study programme is tailored specially for the international students as an excellent platform not only for PPK Aero to share expertise but also to attract talented students globally.
“By conducting the programme, we hope to forge valuable partnership with other universities and industries simultaneously,” he stated.
“Our partnership with Foshan University started in 2022 and since then, we have been engaging in multiple collaborations with them through multiple study programmes.
“This August marks a significant milestone as we are now conducting in-person study programme, underscoring our commitment to fostering a more dynamic learning environment,” he announced.
The Artificial Intelligence Study Programme between PPK Aero USM and Foshan University was held from 14 August until 17 August 2023 which included sessions on modules and learning activities conducted by skilled lecturers from USM.
