ND PAPER SCHOLARSHIP AWARD CEREMONY HELD TO HONOUR OUTSTANDING STUDENTS
USM PENANG, 7 August 2023 – Today, a ceremony was held at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) to acknowledge three excellent students and to commemorate a significant outcome of the partnership between ND Paper Malaysia (Selangor) Sdn. Bhd. and USM.
Chan Hong Jie and Lai Kah Mun, both second-year students from the Bioresource Technology Programme, School of Industrial Technology; and Nor Alia Husna Mohd Nasir, a second-year student from the Mechanical Engineering programme, School of Mechanical Engineering were the recipients of the ND Paper Scholarship award.
The ND Paper Scholarship Award is intended to assist the chosen USM student(s) who have achieved exceptional success by providing them with the resources they require to advance in their academic endeavours.
This scholarship will provide the respective candidates with a conditional award to help them in achieving their goals and desires.
ND Paper Malaysia (Selangor) sincerely hopes to attract more outstanding students, as the premise will have the completion of the first and second phases of the 110-acre facility, which will be outfitted with the renowned IR 4.0 technology.
Students are an important target demographic for the company in terms of developing an appropriate competent local workforce for plant operations.
It is hoped that more young and dynamic students would join and grow with the company.
It is anticipated that this approach will result in new synergies and enhanced value for both ND Paper and USM in the coming years.
The three students from USM have proven to be not only excellent in their academic achievements, but also possess outstanding personality achievements that perfectly synergise with the key values treasured by ND Paper Malaysia (Selangor) Sdn. Bhd. and the university, says ND Paper spokesperson.
It was also mentioned that their capacity to overcome personal hurdles, maintain a positive demeanour, and demonstrate resilience in the face of adversities, together with their steadfast commitment to their goals, distinguishes them as shining examples of excellence.

Dr. Nurul Fazita Mohammad Rawi; Public Relations and Administrative Director, Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Limited Malaysia, Datin Isabel Kow Soek Foon; and Deputy HR Manager, Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Limited Malaysia, Tan Li Yen.
