USM PENANG, 21 July 2023 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) archery athlete, P. Kayalvhily, a second-year student from the School of Management is the only athlete from the University selected to represent Malaysia at the FISU World University Games (UNIVERSIADE) 2023 to be held in Chengdu, China from 28 July 2023 - 8 August 2023.

At the Games, Penang-born Kayalvhily will be competing in the Women's Team Compound category.

She has also participated and achieved successes in various archery tournaments at the university, state, national and international levels.

At the 2022 Vietnam SEA Games, Kayalvhily won a bronze medal in the Women's Team Compound category. In fact, in her international debut in early 2022, she won a silver medal in the compound team event at the Asia Cup in Phuket.

The USM community congratulates and wishes Kayalvhily all the best at UNIVERSIADE 2023 and will be rooting for her to bring home a medal in the archery event.
