USM, KUBANG KERIAN, KELANTAN, 30 May 2023 – The Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Health Campus today receives a visit from a representative of the City, University of London, Dr. Meha Qassem as part of a research-sharing programme on expertise and insights into the field of Biomedical Engineering.

Dr. Meha, who is the Director of Biomedical Engineering and Health Pregraduate Programme, also shared her research outcomes which utilised the expertise in biomedical engineering with respective department representatives who were present.

Upon her arrival, Dr. Meha was welcomed by the Director of USM Health Campus, Professor Dr. Shaharum Shamsuddin, who then gave a welcoming speech and did a brief introduction on USM.

Potentials for collaboration between both universities can be seen in the field of optical sensors for medical and health applications through the School of Medical Sciences (PPSP), School of Dental Sciences (PPSG), School of Health Sciences (PPSK) and Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine (INFORMM).

Also present during the visit were the Director of INFORMM, Associate Professor Dr. Aziah Ismail; Deputy Dean (Academic, Career and International) of PPSP, Professor Dr. Kamarul Aryffin Baharuddin; Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation) of PPSP, Associate Professor Dr. Asrenee Ab. Razak; and Deputy Dean (USM-KLE) of PPSP, Associate Professor Dr. Nik Ahmad Zuky Nik Lah.
