NIBONG TEBAL, 10 April 2023 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Engineering Campus much-awaited Career Fair 2023 is finally back in wholly physical mode!
It has been three years since the Career Fair was held in its conventional way due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the organising committee has come a long way to continue bringing the best version of the Career Fair to participants every year.
This year’s Career Fair brings together over 60 local and overseas companies ranging from small to large multinational companies (MNCs) to bring you the best job-hunting experience.
“The USM Engineering Campus Career Fair is an annual event organised by the Student Development Affairs and Alumni Division (BHEPA) to be the platform for our undergraduates and industry players to converge for career awareness, internship placements and employability,” said BHEPA Assistant Registrar, Mohd Hafiz Ali Mohd Anuar.
“The main purpose of the Fair is to prepare undergraduates for the working world by providing them early with various career opportunities to ensure that job security is high on the list or priorities of our undergraduates who will soon embark on their career.
“In short, it is a key stepping stone for our undergraduates to market themselves and secure their employability, hence paving the way for their brighter career path as well as for the development of the country,” he added.
Meanwhile, Career Fair 2023 Secretariat head, Kee Kang Yik said, the Career Fair is an event that serves as a platform for students to engage with industry leaders and employers from various sectors all under one roof.
“It provides an opportunity for us to learn about the latest trends and developments in the job market, and to explore potential career paths.
“Hence, I want to encourage each and every one of us to make the most of this opportunity. Take the time to talk to the employers and industry professionals. Ask questions, and learn as much as you can.
“This is your chance to explore various career options, to gain insights into what employers are looking for, and to develop valuable contacts for the future,” added Kang Yik, 3rd year, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
There are exhibition booths, career talks, company consultancy, and interview sessions that will be carried out in person, as well as several fun mini-games lined up for the two-day Fair.
