1,130 GRADUATES RECEIVE THEIR DEGREES AT USM 51st CONVOCATION
PENANG, 27 April 2015 - A total of 1,130 graduates received their degrees at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) 51st Convocation Ceremony held in three sessions at the Dewan Tuanku Syed Putra (DTSP) here, which ended last Sunday.
H.R.H. Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, the Raja of Perlis who is also the USM Chancellor, conferred degrees to 262 PhD graduates (Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Public Health and Doctor of Business Administration) at the First Session on Saturday morning.
Among those who received their doctorate degrees were Datuk Chamil Wariya, a prominent figure in journalism and media, and 12 lecturers from the International University of Batam, (UIB) Indonesia, who received their doctorate degrees in Business Administration (DBA).
The Second Session, held on Saturday afternoon, was chaired by the Pro-Chancellor Tan Sri Datuk Mustafa Mansur who conferred degrees to 505 Masters graduates.
The Third Session was presided by the Pro-Chancellor Tan Sri Dato' Dr. M. Jegathesan, who presented scrolls to 363 first degree graduates.
