CABIN IN THE WOODS WILL BE USM’S LATEST ATTRACTION
USM PENANG, 8 February 2023 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) will welcome its new attraction soon, to be known as “Cabin In The Woods" (CITW).
According to the Project Leader, Professor Dato’ Dr. Aldrin Abdullah, the attraction will be “located in a verdant green setting, an outdoor space with lush green plants, a vertical garden, two water features, a few gazebos and an outdoor dining area”.
“Try to imagine lights hanging from the huge trees above the cabins, creating a tranquil atmosphere especially at night,” he said.
He added that, CITW utilizes a total of 5 cabins or containers as the core structure.
“We hope to provide great coffee, baguettes, doughnuts, ‘nasi lemak’ and a host of other international food types, day and night, once it is opened,” he pointed out in his social media posting.
Furthermore, this latest addition is meant to support and complement the adjacent “The Bricks” building.
Aldrin also mentioned that for the next phase, “Imagine a 50-metre canopy walk, elevated 5 metres above ground level and which connects to the upper part of The Bricks and CITW.”
“You can walk in between the rain trees, admiring the beautiful ‘green’ ConvEx site from above and while at it, feed the birds. Codenamed “The Tree Walk”, it will be the icing on the cake,” he said.
This project is also a joint-venture with USM Alumni, Basree Harun.
