USM STUDENTS GO ON STUDY TOUR TO LEARN ABOUT OPERATIONS AT DELL TECHNOLOGIES
BUKIT MINYAK, 7 February 2023 – Now that the COVID 19-related Movement Control Order (MCO) is over, students from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) School of Computer Sciences were finally able to go for an on-site factory tour to the Dell Asia-Pacific Customer Centre 2 (APCC2) in early February 2023.
Dell Technologies Business Operation Director, Leonard Tan, gave an inspiring seminar prior to the factory tour to provide further understanding of the production line.
The USM group was also treated to a Chinese New Year celebration event, which has made the trip to APCC2 more memorable.
Dell Technologies is a unique family of businesses which assist organisations and individuals to build their digital future and transform how they work, live, and play — in short, providing customers with the industry’s broadest and most innovative technology and services portfolio.
The company is made up of more than 150,000 people, located in over 180 locations around the world.
Being part of an interactive learning activity, such a visit to the industry could give students major exposure to real-life working environments, along with a practical perspective based from a theoretical concept relevant to their domain of study.
Moreover, educational visits bridge the widening gap between practical exposure and theoretical learning by giving students first-hand exposure to identify the inputs and outputs of different business processes and operations performed at the workplace.
Overall, the visit to APCC2 was a fruitful one, and that would bear valuable experience for both the students and academic staff.
