PUTRAJAYA, 1 February 2023 – The Minister of Higher Education, Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin has approved the appointment of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Graduate School of Business (GSB) Dean, Professor Dr. Azlan Amran as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Industry and Community Network for a three-year term, effective 1 February 2023.

He takes over the position from Professor Dr. Md Roslan Hashim, whose tenure had ended on 30 November 2022.

Azlan, 51, has a Ph.D and an MBA in Accounting from the University of Malaya.

Hailing from Ulu Langat in Selangor, he is the son of a police officer, the eldest of four siblings who began his career as a lecturer in USM in 2006.

Azlan has vast experience and knowledge in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (Practice and Reporting) as well as Integrated Reporting and Corporate Governance.

He has been active in various committees at the national and international stage, such as with the Malaysian Institute of Integrity, SIRIM, Asian Academy of Management (AAM) and The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow, a 21st century organisation (ABEST21).

The expertise that he possesses also qualifies him to be appointed as member of the Board of Directors for the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, an elite accreditation body based in Tampa, Florida, USA.
