USM PENANG, 19 December 2022 – Professor Dato’ Gs. Dr. Narimah Samat, who is Exercising the Function of the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Vice-Chancellor, was honoured to receive a courtesy call from a delegation of the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia at her Office this afternoon.

The aim of the visit was to discuss on the potential collaboration of several academic programmes, which included the Double Degree Master Programme – Master of Urban and Regional Planning ITB and MSc. (Sustainable Cities and Communities) USM between the School of Architecture, Planning and Policy Development (SAPPD), ITB and the School of Housing, Building and Planning (HBP), USM.

At the same meeting, it was also formally announced that Narimah has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor at ITB.

The ITB team consisted of the Dean of SAPPD ITB, Dr. Sri Maryati; Programme Coordinator of Urban and Regional Planning, Dr. Adiwan F. Aritenang; Committee for Double Degree in Tourism Planning, Dr. Alhilal Furqan; and International Track Coordinator, Dr. Bagas Dwipantara.

The ITB team is on a 7-day visit to USM, and will also be visiting the USM School of Humanities and School of Social Sciences to explore on the potential of establishing similar Double Degree programmes with both schools.
