#MALAYSIADAYWITHSOTA : UNVEILING THE TALENT OF MALAYSIAN
USM PENANG, 26 October 2022 - School of The Arts, USM organized “Malaysia Day Doodle Competition” in conjunction with Malaysia’s 65th Independence Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.
This competition was held from 22nd August until 30th September 2022 with the theme of ‘Keluarga Malaysia Teguh Bersama’. The objective of the Malaysia Day Doodle Competition is to celebrate the month of Malaysia Day by fostering the spirit of patriotism through art and design among the youth in Malaysia.
The competition aims to increase social awareness through the power of art and encourage the students to be more confident in themselves leading to their passion for art and design.
The project was led by Farizzatul Syahnaz Mohd Mokhter, Designer of UDesign & Cultural Unit, SOTA USM - Project Director for two consecutive years (last year was on “Malaysia National Day Doodle Competition 2021”), and assisted by Gurvinderjit Singh Sidhu and Shamsul Bahri Mat Said.
This year the competition received 48 entries from both categories: Category A for 15 to 20 years old and Category B for 21 years old and above.
The participation fee for the Category A is RM15 and Category B is RM 20 and each category has been offered cash prizes and certificates of participation.
The top 3 doodle artworks from each category have been featured on the USM’s official social media platform as well as Arts USM (School of The Arts USM) Facebook and Instagram.
The humble project aim was competently delivered not just in promoting creativity, passion and imagination of hidden talent that have in Young People, but also sustained the deep meaningful gratitude and pride of the country's pluralistic society.
