USM RECEIVES COURTESY VISIT FROM PENANG STATE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION REPS, DISCUSSES ON FUTURE GAME PLANS IN THE STATE
USM PENANG, 17 Aug 2022 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Faisal Rafiq Mahamd Adikan today received a courtesy visit from the President of the Malaysian Hockey Confederation, Dato’ Sri Subahan Kamal.
The aim of the visit was to discuss on the direction of development for hockey sports programme with USM in uplifting the sport of hockey in the state, educational institutions, national and international stages in Penang.
During the meeting, both parties discussed on the long-term plans for the Penang State Hockey Association (PSHA) to make use of the USM turf field for the development of future talents.
Faisal Rafiq further explained about the USM La Liga Youth to the representatives to give them the idea in developing the collaboration for future tournaments.
Meanwhile, Subahan proposed a few suggestions to the Vice-Chancellor on how USM can support the association to develop the sports, especially for the young players.
Also present were Malaysian Hockey Confederation Vice-President, Ranjit Singh Gurdial Singh; Penang State Hockey Association (PSHA) Vice-President, Suhaimi Abu Bakar; PSHA Vice-President, V. Vangamani; Director of USM Sports and Recreation Centre, Idrus Haji Rapie and PSHA Secretary, V. Jayanandhan.
