PENANG, 23 June 2022 – The Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) HEBAT Development Centre has successfully organised the ‘LIFE’ Programme Workshop today, which involved 57 key USM personnel, comprising of 10 members of the organising committee, 13 ‘LIFE’ coordinators, 27 ‘MidLIFE’ coordinators and 7 strategisers.

The objective of this workshop was to create, revise and enhance the key contents, engagement, assessment and industry-involvement elements of the programmes based on the previous ‘LIFE’ Programme in September 2021.

USM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Dr. Faisal Rafiq Mahamd Adikan and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Student Development Affairs and Alumni, Professor Dr. Azlinda Azman attended the second day of the workshop to oversee and advise on the progress on the ideas presented regarding the programme.

Faisal Rafiq said that, he is fully supportive of this kind of programme and was quite amazed on how much it could boost the potential of USM students to be ahead of the crowd, by having key knowledge and networking skills and obtaining opportunities with the industry, community and government sectors.

“I trust and believe in every one of the coordinators, as I know their capabilities and their ideas that are truly aligned with the main objective of the university, which is to produce graduates with the HEBAT elements in them.”

“I am looking forward to this ‘LIFE’ Programme, as this programme has created a huge success last year, even though it could only be done through the online platform, which was very difficult I believe.”

So with today’s presentation, I must say that this year’s ‘LIFE’ programme would be much better and more interesting, as we might be able to do it physically; so let’s hope for the best,” he added.

In addition, Azlinda said that she and the Student Development Affairs and Alumni Division (BHEPA) will be ready to give a hand whenever needed and she was also very happy with the outcomes of the workshop.
