USM PENANG, 17 June 2022 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) officially launched the sales of special vehicle registration plates USM 1 to USM 9999 to the public today.

The university will maintain the combination of ‘USM’ letters to represent UNIVERSITI SAINS MALAYSIA in the special vehicle registration numbers.

The university calls on the USM community and its alumni to show their support by bidding for the USM 1 to USM 9999 vehicle registration numbers.

The bidding process will take place starting today until 29 June:

• 17 June 2022 – 20 June 2022 for number 1 – 99
• 17 June 2022 – 21 June 2022 for number 100 – 1999
• 17 June 2022 – 22 June 2022 for number 2000 – 2999
• 17 June 2022 – 23 June 2022 for number 3000 – 3999
• 17 June 2022 – 24 June 2022 for number 4000 – 4999
• 17 June 2022 – 25 June 2022 for number 5000 – 5999
• 17 June 2022 – 26 June 2022 for number 6000 – 6999
• 17 June 2022 – 27 June 2022 for number 7000 – 7999
• 17 June 2022 – 28 June 2022 for number 8000 – 8999
• 17 June 2022 – 29 June 2022 for number 9000 – 9999.

Bids can be made by downloading the carplates.my application from the Google Store for Android users and the Apple Store for iPhone users.

Bidders can start bidding from as low as RM250 for a four-digit registration number, depending on the value that has been set in the bidding system.

Funds obtained from the sales of these registration plates will be channelled to help support and boost the university's ongoing research work.
