USM PENANG, 26 January 2022 –The USM Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation, Professor Dato’ Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed today received a courtesy visit from the Attaché for Science and Higher Education, Embassy of France in Malaysia, Dr. Valerie Barbosa.

During the short “lunch meet”, both sides discussed on areas of mutual interests and potential cooperation between France and USM on the higher education platform.

Both parties look forward to the friendship and bilateral ties that has been forged to be further enhanced, especially in the areas of research & development, postgraduate academic programmes, cultural exchange as well as student and staff mobility programmes.

USM Research Collaboration and Management Office (RCMO) Deputy Director, Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Hazwan Hussin; USM Centre for Marine and Coastal Studies (CEMACS) Director, Professor Dato' Dr. Aileen Tan Shau-Hwai; and USM School of Chemical Sciences former Dean, Professor Dr. Afidah Abdul Rahim were among those who were also present at the meeting.
