USM CLIMBS UP THE RANKINGS IN THE LATEST GLOBAL EMPLOYABILITY SURVEY; RANKED 178TH
USM PENANG, 24 November 2021 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) today made its mark as it jumped in the latest Global Employability University Ranking and Survey (GEURS).
As reported in a local daily, USM jumped up 13 spots, from being ranked at 191st previously to 178th.
GEURS, which is published by Times Higher Education (THE), is run by Emerging, a higher education human resources consultancy.
According to a statement from THE, the survey presented rankings of the world’s top 250 universities according to recruiters/employers direct assessment. These recruiters and managers selected up to 15 universities from a list of 2,000 universities worldwide.
The 11th edition of this annual survey was carried out across 23 countries and regions, resulting in 118,196 votes cast by 10,928 international recruiters and managers supervising five or more graduates yearly.
The ranking are based on six criteria, namely: Academic excellence; Specialization; Focus on work expertise; Graduate skills; Digital performance; and Internationality.
USM wishes to convey its appreciation for the support given by the Alumni, industry collaborators, various agencies, and the wider USM communities for this exceptional achievement. We hope to build further on this.
Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) along with Universiti Malaya (UM) which goes up 9 spots, are the two Malaysian universities that have jumped up the rankings in the global employability survey.
