USM PENANG, 10 July 2021 - On behalf of the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Management team, I would like to wish everyone all the best for the upcoming exams, says the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Faisal Rafiq Mahamd Adikan in addressing USM students across all campuses who will be sitting for their Finals, beginning 12 July 2021.

Sending the message via the students’ e-mailing list, the Vice-Chancellor said, “InshaaAllah, the hard work you have put in and dedication you have shown will pay off.

“In his book Beyond Order, Jordan Patterson wrote: Difficult is necessary (in accomplishing something meaningful in life). I hope that you would see challenges as part of the character building process that would prepare you to face the future.

“I also hope that USM have played and will continue to play a major role in shaping you to become one whose resourcefulness, perseverance, and positivity would make an ocean from a drop of water, and a mountain from a handful of soil,” added the Vice-Chancellor.

He also urged all students to not only study hard during the exam period, but to also look after themselves especially during this COVID-19 period, adhering to the strict SOPs in place.

For the record, some 16,381 undergraduate and postgraduate students from all USM campuses would be sitting for their final exams online, but the number could be much less as many would have completed their studies via 100 percent coursework assessment before the actual exam weeks, being part of USM’s efforts to ensure that its students will graduate on time or earlier, and be among the first graduates to enter the job market.
