USM POSTPONES ITS 58TH CONVOCATION CEREMONY
Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) pays serious attention to the sharp increase in new COVID-19 cases in the country recently and takes note of the government's recent announcement to implement the Movement Control Order (MCO) nationwide effective 12 May to 7 June 2021.
As such, after taking into account all risk factors and a comprehensive assessment covering the safety and well-being of graduands in particular, the University community and the general public, and after obtaining the consent of HRH Tuanku Chancellor of USM, the University has decided to POSTPONE its 58th Convocation Ceremony scheduled for 1 June 2021 and 8 to 16 June 2021, until a date to be notified in the future when the situations permit.
Any inconvenience arising from the postponement, especially those related to the initial preparation and planning that has been done by the graduands are deeply regretted.
The decision was made in the best interest of all parties involved with regard to their health, safety and well-being, in addition to compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) issued by the National Security Council (NSC).
In this regard, the University truly appreciates the concern, understanding and cooperation given by all parties involved.
Let us pray together and help break the chain of the COVID-19 transmission.
Graduands are requested to refer to the official website https://convo.usm.my/ from time to time to obtain the latest information and developments in relation to the 58th Convocation Ceremony of Universiti Sains Malaysia.
Thank you.
