USM PENANG, 25 February 2021 - Penerbit USM is gearing up for two major online book fairs in March and April, in which readers will get access to fascinating book deals and online activities.

The first is the Karnival Buku Ilmiah (KABI) 3.0 happening from 1 to 18 March 2021, organised by the Malaysian Scholarly Publication Council (MAPIM). MAPIM comprises the country’s major scholarly publishers that aim to promote and elevate scholarly and scientific publications.

KABI 3.0, the third series of the event, is organised in conjunction with the new semester commencement for tertiary education students.

Readers can browse deals and purchase from Penerbit USM’s major e-commerce platforms, including KaryaUSM.my, Shopee, Lazada, PG Mall and PrestoMall beginning 1 March 2021.

Subsequently, later in the same month, Malaysia’s largest book fair, the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF), will be held for over two weeks from 19 March until 4 April 2021.

More than 100 publishers and booksellers will be involved in this event, seen as the national publishing scene’s biggest highlight of the year.

In KLIBF, more than 30,000 titles of various genres will be offered to shoppers, with the Majlis Buku Kebangsaan Malaysia spearheading the coordination and promotion, while e-commerce giant Shopee collaborates as the event’s main marketplace platform.

Besides attractive discounts, stimulating activities such as book talks, trade and rights webinars, live forums and multimedia shows will be made accessible online to educate and engage users during both events.
