PENANG, 17 August 2020 – The Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Media and Public Relations Centre (MPRC) today welcomed a visit by the Universiti Malaya (UM) Corporate Communications Office (CCO).

The UM CCO delegate was led by the Acting Head of CCO, Hirman Awang and accompanied by Tuty Haryati Kassim, Mohd Julian Burhanuddin, Joan Tang May Yin and Mastura Mohd Yusoff.

The Director of MPRC, Dr. Ahmad Zulman Mohd Zain gave a short welcoming speech and presented the delegates with an overview of the office and USM. This was followed by a briefing from CCO.

The visit by CCO was aimed at strengthening relations with regard to departments of similar responsibilities within the higher education institutions.

MPRC had undergone a university restructuring exercise in 2015 and CCO underwent a similar process in 2017.

The meeting saw both offices exchanged viewpoints and shared good practices in the area of public relations and corporate communications. This was seen as important in view of recent developments affecting the country in general and higher education in particular.

Prior to the meeting, the UM CCO delegate had a brief session with the USM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Faisal Rafiq Mahamd Adikan.

Others who were present at the meeting include MPRC Deputy Director, Tan Ewe Hoe; Principal Deputy Registrar, Zamzami Rasidi; Senior Deputy Registrar, Marziana Mohamed Alias; Head of Designer, Adli Hanafi Azmi and other MPRC key officers.
