USM EMBARKS INTO 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION WITH AN INTEGRATED CLINICAL SIMULATION CENTRE
KOTA BAHRU, KELANTAN, 20 August 2019 – The setting up of the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Integrated Clinical Simulation Centre (i-CSC) is a USM state-of-the-art initiative in preparing experts in the clinical field who would bring about impactful services in the efficiency of treatment and in ensuring the safety of patients.
Seven simulations were launched, which include AR GYNAE Endotrainer, Satelite Endo-Laparoscopy Surgery, 3D-Printing in Medicine, Advanced Minimally Invasive Endovascular & Neuroradiology, Advanced Life Support, Point-of-Care Ultrasound and Microsurgical Skills Training.
All the hi-end technology in medicine were the outcomes of proactive ideas and expertise of the USM medical experts, which were developed through innovation and creativity, with the final aim of optimising the capabilities of the USM medical experts in providing the best to the community, which is in line with the aspiration of USM in ‘Bringing USM to the World and the World to USM’.
The i-CSC was launched by the Director-General, Higher Education Department, Ministry of Education Malaysia, Datin Paduka Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah Tapsir after the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Conference on Medical and Health Sciences (3rd ICMHS) and the 24th National Conference on Medical Sciences (24th NCMHS) held here earlier today.
Also present were USM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation, Professor Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed; Director of Health Campus, Professor Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Sukari Halim and Dean, School of Medical Sciences, Professor Dr. Shaiful Bahari Ismail.
