USM, NITKC JAPAN SIGN IT R&D MoU
PENANG, Sept. 2018 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and the National Institute of Technology, Kagawa College (NITKC), Japan have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in the field of information technology at NITKC Takamatsu Campus, Kagawa, Japan last month.
The Director of USM Centre for Instructional Technology and Multimedia (PTPM), Associate Professor Dr. Wan Ahmad Jaafar Wan Yahaya, in representing the USM Vice-Chancellor at the signing ceremony, said the collaboration involved joint research and development (R&D) activities, postgraduate students and academic exchanges as well as joint seminars, conferences and training over a period of three years.
Signing the MoU on behalf of NITKC was its President, Professor Dr. Yoshio Aso and witnessed by its Vice-President, Professor Dr. Shiro Sawada.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Professor Aso said NITKC is well pleased to add USM to its list of overseas institutions as its strategic partner in advancing the field of information technology (IT) and multimedia.
NITKC is a public institution of higher learning and one of 51 Colleges of Technology (KOSEN) under the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Japan which produces and develops highly qualified engineers with a rich sense of humanity and creativity to contribute to intellectual and technological progress in Japan.
