PENANG, 7 October 2013 - A delegation from St. Cloud State University (SCSU), Minnesota, United States, is committed to fully explore opportunities to collaborate with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed here today.

Its President, Dr. Earl H. Potter III, said that he was excited to be given the opportunity to collaborate with one of Malaysia’s top universities and intends to establish a variety of strategic partnerships especially those involving in the development of global higher education.

He said that his first visit to USM was a very significant one for SCSU to strengthen mutual achievement with USM, specifically involving research, and the exchange of staff and students.

“SCSU is ready to cooperate in various matters that are beneficial in the development of education and research,” he said at the MoA signing ceremony.

USM Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Shukri Mustapa Kamal signed on behalf of the university. The Dean of the School of Social Sciences, USM, Dr. Nor Malina Malik, was also present in the ceremony.

Ahmad Shukri said that USM is always exploring opportunities to strengthen its business by collaborating with strategic partners globally, covering a wide range of academic fields.
