NIBONG TEBAL, 5 January 2018 – The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Professor Dato’ Dr. Asma Ismail recently attended a briefing and discussion session with staff members from two Academic Schools at the USM Engineering Campus in Nibong Tebal, to enhance efforts and aligning them with the aims of the university.

The academic and administrative staff from the School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering attended the session, and was joined by the Campus Director, Professor Dr. Nor Azazi Zakaria.

Deans from both Schools, namely Professor Dr. Zuhailawati Hussain and Professor Ir. Dr. Mohd Rizal Arshad presented on the projections of each School in moving up in the rankings, as well as in courses offered which currently need to be more relevant in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

The programme was also held to identify niche areas in the field of Engineering at USM which could be further strenghtened, apart from being able to meet the Vice-Chancellor in person to discuss various issues relating to the management and development of the respective Schools at the Engineering Campus.

Both the Academic Schools were established in 1986.
