PENANG, 3 January 2018 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) today received a courtesy visit from BPP University, London, United Kingdom and Anshan Normal University, China to discuss on potential collaborations in higher education involving the three universities.

BPP University was represented by Richard Simmons CBE, Executive Chairman of BPP Group and Chairman of BPP University while Anshan Normal University, China was represented by Professor Vincent Xiaoguang Qi. 

The USM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail received the visitors together with the key university officials, and a discussion was held to identify potential areas for collaboration which would benefit and contribute further to the growth of higher education in the country. 

Also present was Dr. Jin Hooi Chan, who was responsible in setting up the meeting for all three parties, and who currently lectures at the University of Greenwich in London, UK.

Earlier in the morning, the visitors held a roundtable discussion with the academic staff of the School of Social Sciences, chaired by the Dean, Professor Dr. Azlinda Azman.
