FUSE USM: WHERE STUDENTS, LOCAL AND ABROAD, MEET AND MIX
USM, PENANG, 11 November 2017 – FUSE is a programme promoting multicultural diversity and interaction at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which USM students look forward to every year.
This year it is held with a different theme ‘Hawaiian’, which is hoped to give a more 'laidback' feeling to the students coming to the event.
Held at Tasik Aman in the campus, the programme hopes to provide a conducive atmosphere for local and international students to meet and mix around, interact with one another and understand each other in an informal setting.
Both the USM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Development Affairs and Alumni), Professor Dato' Dr. Adnan Hussein and wife, Datin Kamaliah Siarap were present to grace the event.
According to a representative of the USM International Mobility & Collaboration Centre (IMCC), FUSE is likened to a bonfire night for the students, to see performances by the local and international students alike in a relaxed setting.
"In addition, the international students were also able to present their culture and cuisine to others, as well as watching fire performers who were specially invited to showcase their skills," the representative further said.
This event is organised by the USM Student Buddies and supervised by IMCC.
