DGHE CAMBODIA STAFF AT USM FOR ‘HANDS-ON’ EXPERIENCE
PENANG, 25 August 2017 – A five-member delegation from the Directorate General of Higher Education (DGHE), Cambodia were in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) recently to receive ‘hands-on’ experience in a five-day programme called the ‘Shadow Programme on University Governance and Management & Academic Development’.
The objective of the programme, held from 21-25 August, was to provide opportunities for the DGHE staff members to be attached to different schools and departments in USM to better understand the best practices in governance, management and administration of the faculty, as well as in different fields and programme.
In closing the ceremony, the USM Registrar, Professor Dato’ Dr. Abdul Aziz Tajuddin said, this programme is beneficial for both parties, with the intent of exchanging knowledge and experiences between both countries and also with the universities that they are representing.
Among the departments they were attached to were the Division of Academic and International Affairs (BHEAA), Legal Department, Institute of Postgraduates Studies (IPS), International Mobility and Collaboration Centre (IMCC), Human Resources Division (HRD), Institutional Development Division (BPI), Research Creativity and Management Office (RCMO) and School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The delegation includes the Deputy Director, Institute of Foreign Language, Royal University of Phnom Penh, Dr. Roth Hok; Deputy Director of Technical School For Medical Care, Dr. Leng Veng Se; Dean, Faculty of Medicine, University of Health Sciences, Dr. Bounchan Touttirong; Lecturer, Institute Technology of Cambodia, Dr. Yos Phanny and Officer, Department of Higher Education, Chour Channareth.
