SMART PARTNERSHIP TO NURTURE QUALITY GRADUATES
SETIA ALAM, 14 August 2017 – A smart partnership established between Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College is one of the key initiatives towards producing world-class graduates, more specifically in the field of health care.
According to the Dean of USM School of Health Sciences, Professor Dr. Norazmi Mohd Noor, the cooperation between both parties will spark the synergy to develop talents who will not encounter any problem in adjusting themselves when joining the various health care industries.
"This collaboration will be another milestone for USM, as we embark on expanding our academic network with one of the most prestigious private institutions in the nation,” he said.
"I believe that the proven experience of Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College in managing academic programmes using the corporate approach and optimising expertise and resources will also be useful for the USM management team to co-learn on the best practices," he added.
Norazmi said, USM has been offering various programmes in health sciences since 2000 and has gained sufficient experience and accumulated a wealth of expertise in designing the curriculum and delivering quality education through the 'USM' way.
"We are fully confident that this cooperation will further enhance the development of the academic culture and foster intellectual collaboration among peers in the respective discipline of health sciences," he said in his speech, representing the USM Vice-Chancellor during the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between USM and Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care College here this afternoon.
The occasion also saw the attendance of the Director of IPTS Governance Division, Ministry of Higher Education, Dr. Mohamed Ali Abdul Rahman; Chairman of Ramsay Sime Darby Board and Group Medical Advisor, Dato' Dr. Jacob Thomas and other principal officers from both parties.
