SERDANG, 25 May 2017 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) along with 4 other Malaysian public universities (UA) have been chosen to receive the Green Campus Sustainability Award 2017 in conjunction with the Green Campus Sustainability Convention 2017 held at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

Representing USM to receive the award and cash prize of RM20,000 was the Director of USM Centre for Education and Training on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Green Technology (CETREE), Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Wira bin Mohd Shafiei.

The convention was officiated by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Dr. Ali Bin Hamsa, who also presented the awards.

Representatives from USM who were present were the Director of Centre for Global Sustainability Studies (CGSS), Dr. Suzyrman Sibly and Senior Deputy Registrar, Student Development Affairs & Alumni Division, Mohd Saad Bin Haji Din.
