CONGRATULATIONS TO THREE USM STUDENTS, PROUD RECIPIENTS OF YANG DIPERTUAN AGONG SCHOLARSHIP 2017
KUALA LUMPUR, 24 May 2017 – The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V has awarded the Yang Dipertuan Agong Scholarship (BYDPA) 2017 to 12 students from higher educational institutions here at Istana Negara.
The recipients were selected by the BYDPA Committee, under the Public Services Department (JPA), and are undergoing their studies at the Master’s and Doctoral (PhD) level in various fields of science and technology at universities locally and abroad.
The PhD candidates from USM are Iffa Farahin Jeepery (Biochemistry) and Fakhitah Ridzuan (Information Systems Management) while Nur Nadia Che Aziz (Medical Sciences) is studying at the Master’s level.
The BYDPA, currently in its 11th year, has been awarded to deserving and qualified recipients who have excelled in their studies since 2006. The award is given to those pursuing higher education in the fields of science and technology, economics, law and Islamic finance.
In total, 6 recipients at the PhD and six at the Master’s level were awarded the 2017 BYDPA scholarship.
Also present at the ceremony were the Director-General of JPA, Datuk Seri Zainal Rahim Seman and Director of Human Resource Development Division of JPA, Datuk Dr. Rosslina Ahmad Mokhtar.
