USM SIGNS MOU WITH UNIVERSITY OF HULL AFFIRMING ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH COLLABORATIONS
USM, PENANG, 23 March 2017 – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and University of Hull, United Kingdom (UK) at the Chancellory Conference Room (CCR) in USM today to strengthen cooperation in the education field.
The USM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail said that this MoU will allow both institutions to work more closely together and to reach a common goal, which is the pursuit of the internationalisation of education.
"University of Hull is among the top 10 universities in the UK for graduate employability, and with such a reputation, we hope to learn and co-learn many great things from them,” she said.
Asma added, with this MoU, the existing relationship between both institutions will be further enhanced, paving the way for many academic programmes to be initiated by both sides, in particular USM Graduate School of Business (GSB) and School of Health Sciences.
"I am glad that GSB and School of Health Sciences are both taking the opportunity through this MoU to gear USM towards becoming an excellent centre for sustainable education and research.
"I hope we will be able to achieve more and continue to develop a stronger relationship between USM and University of Hull," said Asma.
Also present at the signing ceremony were the Associate Dean of Business School, Madam Lynn Barrow representing Professor Alan Speight, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of University of Hull, other representatives from University of Hull, USM Deans and university principal officers.
