FORMER USM DVC-ICN DEDICATES ‘HALL OF FAME’ AWARD TO UNIVERSITY
PENANG, 6 December 2016 – The former Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Network), Dato’ Dr. Susie See Ching Mey dedicated her international award, the ‘International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame’ she received at the 21st Induction Ceremony at the University of Oklahoma USA recently to USM which has contributed immensely towards it.
“I have spent a major part of my life serving USM, through the USM School of Educational Studies and later in the capacity as the USM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Network) from 2011 until 2016, which has provided me with plenty of room and opportunities to contribute towards the implementation and transformation of the industry and community network, including those relating to global networks," she said.
She added, this award is truly a major recognition of all the efforts initiated and opportunities provided by USM in fulfilling her duties and responsibilities to different societies around the world.
Susie, a psychologist by training, received the award together with 13 other recipients, mostly coming from Europe, in a special ceremony, the ‘21st Induction Ceremony of The International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame’ (IACEHOF) 2016, held in Orlando, Florida.
IACEHOF which was established in 1993, not only provides recognition to leaders in the field of continuing education and adult learning, but also in keeping records and to inspire future generations to become leaders who would be willing to contribute to society in a big way.
